San Leandro 2050 is seeking an Outreach Project Manager for grants that focus on building community collaboration and solutions that address climate change, quality of life and a sustainable future for all including a focus on our Spanish and Cantonese speaking residents. San Leandro 2050 is a community-based not for profit group based in San Leandro, California. As a Community Outreach manager, you will be part of building a learning community where you can work with diverse individuals, explore new ways of thinking, and be active in your community’s change for the better!
About the Job:
You will have a lead role in the planning and execution of events around the community and online. On any given day you may be involved in planning, monitoring, and executing work, coordinating with partners, residents or staff or collaborating with others!
Help identify new community contacts and meeting sources with the intention of building ongoing, long-term relationships/partnerships.
Represent SL2050, their mission and work in the community at large.
Interact with City staff and elected officials on City projects related to lowering emissions and pollution
Job is a hybrid of both in-office and remote(home) work and is frequently onsite at events.
Produce weekly activity reports and monthly tracking reports as requested.
Example Duties
Identifying and managing partnerships with Spanish or Cantonese agencies, nonprofits and community groups
Written material translation.
Posting event notices to text and or email when required.
Events – identifying event opportunities, planning, set up, data gathering, data collection
Event promotion with s=assistance from social media and interns
Desired Skills and Abilities
Bilingual in either Spanish/English or Cantonese/English
Very good technology skills in the following: (Google Suite (with focus on Excel, or Sheets, Docs or Word, Powerpoint or Slides + Google meet and/or Zoom), and feel at ease with them. Self-learning is a big plus.
Excellent ability to work independently on a remote basis with a flexible schedule while enjoying team work as well.
Ability to lift light materials and equipment between home and field and tabling setups.
Comfortable working remotely and being self-managed to complete assignments.
Work flexible hours, mostly around when events are happening which includes some evenings, and weekends. Event preparation and other non-event related activities will be performed during normal business working hours 8am-5pm, (with some flexibility for other time if approved by supervisor in advance)
Ability to travel frequently to sites in the community for regular meetings and events.
Living in or having strong connections with San Leandro is a definite plus.
Must have access to a personal vehicle, and a valid and current California driver’s license and insurance. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
This is a full time temporary, non-exempt position at $31.25 /hour, with an expected schedule of around 35-40 hours/week. The position is currently set to end on 03/01/2024, with possible extensions dependent on funding.
